What Do You See?

John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. |
One writer has said, “A man's feet should be planted in his country, but his eyes should survey the world.” The Lord Jesus said it to us this way, “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.“ (John 4:35)
When we look at this world what do we see? Do we only see the political turmoil, the economic struggle, the military battles or do we see a world in need of the Gospel? The population of this world is quickly approaching the 7 billion mark. The world’s statistics say that 70% of the world’s population is non Christian. That means that there is a vast number of people who need hear the good news of the gospel. Many who have never heard the message of salvation one time in their lifetime.
Do we see the need or are we so near sighted that we only see our needs, our problems and our goals? May our prayer to our Lord be like that of those in Matthew 20:33, “They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” May our eyes be opened and may we survey the world to see what we can do to get the Gospel to those in need.
